Anna's Family Kitchen was inspired by my love of food and desire to feed my family healthy, home cooked wholesome meals that are beautifully presented and appealing but don’t require hours of prep in the kitchen.

Tomato Pasta Sauce

Initially this might not have the wow factor, but once you’ve read on hopefully you’ll change your mind! Using just 5 ingredients, this is the most versatile sauce you will ever have the pleasure of throwing together.

Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 25 minutes

1 tbsp olive oil
2 red onions chopped
3 garlic cloves crushed
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
800g chopped tomatoes or Passata


Soften the onion in a large pan over a low-medium heat for 10 minutes. Add a good sprinkling of Maldon salt to stop the onions catching.

Add the garlic, stir then add the Balsamic. Let it bubble for a minute then add the tomatoes. Add some black pepper and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
